Slovenia’s Janja Garnbret becomes first woman to win a climbing gold medal at the Olympics
Janja Garnbret gave a masterful performance to claim gold for Slovenia at the Tokyo Olympics. Garnbret, went into the competition as the outright favourite. She completed two of the three bouldering „problems,“ while none of the other climbers managed to solve one.
Janja then climbed higher than her competitors on the lead wall to wrap up the victory and become the first Slovenian woman to win a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Janja Garnbret, Slovenia’s sports climber from Slovenj Gradec is the FIRST GOLD #Olympics winner in the women’s combined at the Olympics Tokyo 2020.

DRAVOGRAD NEKOČ IN DANES – ULIČNA RAZSTAVA
V nedeljo, 4. julija, na praznik Občine Dravograd, je pred cerkvijo sv. Vida potekalo odprtje ulične razstave z naslovom Dravograd nekoč in danes. Gre za razstavo po zamisli Bogomirja Fajmuta – Fajčija. Fajči je namreč izbral nekaj starih fotografij Dravograda in dal pobudo, da bi postavili ulično razstavo ob občinskem prazniku. Ideja je padla na plodna tla in JZ Dravit ter JSKD OI Dravograd sta pristopila k realizaciji. Tako je v Dravogradu na različnih lokacijah postavljenih 15 tabel s starimi fotografijami. Fotografije so postavljene na približno enakem mestu, kot je stal v preteklosti fotograf, ki jih je naredil. Tako lahko ljudje iz istega zornega kota danes opazujejo kako je Dravograd zgledal nekoč in kako izgleda v tem trenutku. Odprtje razstave je popestril Fajči z Lajno, pojasnil pa je tudi od kod mu ta zamisel. Nastopile so tudi članice Bicabanda, par dravograjske folklorne skupine Dravca pa se je ob njihovih zvokih veselo zavrtel. Večina fotografij je v trškem jedru Dravograda, po ena pa je pri Sparu, na peš mostu za Črneče, pod novim mostom, pri Ribiškem domu in na Grajski bajti. Razstava bo na ogled do konca septembra.

Die Ringe sollen laut Pierre de Coubertin die fünf Erdteile darstellen, die in der Olympischen Bewegung miteinander vereint sind. Bis 1951 waren die Farben dabei den Kontinenten zugeordnet: Blau stand für Europa, Gelb für Asien, Schwarz für Afrika, Grün für Australien und Rot für Amerika. Jedoch wurde diese Zuordnung in dem Jahr schließlich aus dem Handbuch der Olympischen Spiele gestrichen und ging auch nicht auf den französischen Erfinder zurück.
Dieser hatte bei dem Entwurf der Ringe ursprünglich nicht die Farben bestimmten Kontinenten zugeteilt. Er wollte mit der Farbwahl etwas anderes erreichen: Mindestens eine der sechs Farben des Logos ist in den Nationalflaggen fast aller Länder der Welt zu finden. Alle Staaten sollten sich somit in dem Symbol wiederfinden können. Außerdem symbolisiert die Verschlungenheit der fünf Ringe die Einigkeit zwischen den Kontinenten und die Tatsache, dass Sportler aus aller Welt bei den Spielen zusammenkommen und gegeneinander antreten.

TRANSIENCE – HOMAGE TO TISNIKAR

The life of Jože Tisnikar ended in 1998 in a tragic traffic accident, just when he had achieved the greatest accomplishment of his career with a large retrospective exhibition to mark his 70^th birthday at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Koroška (KGLU) in Slovenj Gradec. The original, unrepeatable, and inimitable artistic story of his bitter quest to capture the ultimate truths of human existence, however, remains an endless source of inspiration for new projects – projects built around one of the primary collections of the Slovenj Gradec Museum entitled “HOMAGE TO TISNIKAR”, conceived by Milena Zlatar, art historian and former director of the KGLU. To commemorate the great painter, the collection combines works by Slovenian and foreign artists who share similar artistic sensibilities.
Collection HOMAGE TO TISNIKAR presents 66 paintings and drawings of Jože Tisnikar, along with works of following artists: Mirsad Begić, Bogdan Borčić, Matej Čepin, Hermann Falke, Metod Frlic, Zdenko Huzjan, Roberto Kusterle, Dragiša Modrinjak, Zoran Mušič, Valentin Oman, Tihomir Pinter, Herman Pivk, Vladimir Veličković, Franc Vozelj.
