Indian Summer- (um nicht zu sagen Altweibersommer-) E-Bike-Tour in die Peace Messenger City Slovenj Gradec unter dem Motto Herbstfarbenrausch oder der Weg ist das Ziel #
We are pleased to extend our formal invitation to the 31st General Assembly of the International Association of Peace Messenger Cities, to be held in Slovenj Gradec, 24 to 26 October 2024
A City of Peace
Slovenj Gradec proudly bears the title of City of Peace, bestowed by the United Nations in 1989. This year, in late October, the city hosted the Assembly of Cities of Peace, bringing together representatives from various cities worldwide. The event coincides with the celebration of United Nations Day on October 24. Each September, the city holds the Peace Festival, and in October, the Peace Run takes place, highlighting its dedication to promoting peace and international cooperation.

Time to go to Slovenj Gradec again …

The ancient town, located in the basin between Pohorje and Uršlja gora and boasting with the title of “Peace Messenger City”, is a Slovenian synonym for a cultural center, where the rich tradition of the past lends a hand with a modern pulse. The venerable urban tradition and cosmopolitan openness to the world represent only a part of the landscape and spiritual atmosphere of the world along the Mislinja river. The rural hinterland with its alluring and unspoiled nature will satisfy your senses in all four seasons.
Art enthusiasts will appreciate the Koroška Gallery of Fine Arts, which features the works of notable Slovenian artists such as Jože Tisnikar, Bogdan Borčić and Karel Pečko, alongside other international talents. This gallery is an essential stop for anyone wanting to experience the creative spirit of Slovenj Gradec.
As you wander through the charming streets of Slovenj Gradec, be sure to visit the city’s two main churches: St. Elizabeth and the Church of Holy Spirit.
