Die Bilanz: eine von ihrem Präsidenten zutiefst enttäuschte Nation – und ein verlorener Krieg.

Der Briefschreiber von Saigon – 90-year-old Duong Van Ngo has worked as a public letter writer for 27 years at the Saigon Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh City. The last letter writer in the city, Ngo was recognized by the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records as the man who has spent the most time writing letters for those unable to write for themselves.
Working in the rice fields —- As a result of several land reform measures, Vietnam has become a major exporter of agricultural products. It is now the world’s largest producer of cashew nuts, with a one-third global share; the largest producer of black pepper, accounting for one-third of the world’s market; and the second-largest rice exporter in the world after Thailand since the 1990s.

The 17th Vietnam Poetry Day officially opened on February 17 in Hanoi, featuring a wide range of activities.
The Vietnam Poetry Day, from February 16-21 in Hanoi capital city, Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, is being held along with the 4th International Conference on Vietnamese literature promotion and the 2nd International Poem Festival. The events attracted the participation of nearly 200 writers, poets and translators from many countries worldwide.

Die Halong-Bucht (vietnamesisch: Vịnh Hạ Long) ist ein rund 1500 km² großes Gebiet im Golf von Tonkin in der Provinz Quảng Ninh im Norden Vietnams. Nach offiziellen Angaben ragen 1969 Kalkfelsen, zumeist unbewohnte Inseln und Felsen, zum Teil mehrere hundert Meter hoch aus dem Wasser. Das Kalksteinplateau, das die Bucht beheimatet, sinkt langsam. 1994 erklärte die UNESCO die Bucht zum Weltnaturerbe.
